My entire life is a lie. All I heard adults tell me my entire life was I needed to go to college to make a lot of money or else I would end up working on an oil field or as a plumber and now the tables have turned. College is where you go to get 100k in debt and working on an oil field is where you go to make a six figure salary. smh, thanks mom and pops!

tell me about it. My husband is paying my student loans for me. Poor guy.

Yea, pretty much going to tell my kid I would like him to go to college but he needs to find a degree that makes money (my fiance has a degree in Accounting, which makes money. I got a degree in Psychology bc I thought it was interesting, it doesnt make money unless I want to go to school for 8 more years and get more in debt....) or Im gonna tell him to just have a plan, I honestly feel like experience trumps a degree a lot of the time.

Tell them to go to college to get an education for education sake, but to work their ass off in high school so they get a free ride and have more money to spend on booze.

There is way to much manual labor involved in entry level oil jobs. I'll take my cozy desk job any day.
True. My husband used to work crazy hours doing hard work. Now he just manages wells and is on a laptop most of the day. Some days can be crazy but he loves his job.

Speaking of work..wake up mturk. I need to pull my weight around the house.

he makes good money
ServiceNow people get paid decently if you're interested in IT type stuff - needs mild/moderate javascript coding skills and some training/certs that they offer. When I was doing it they had test instances up you could play around and learn on for free.

There's also coding bootcamps - my husband hires people right out of bootcamp sometimes since they are moldable and (relatively) cheap for companies.
