when each of my kids turned 16 I added them as authorized users on a few of my longest history cards. ( without giving them the card though). Each were well over 720 by the time they turned 18
I did the same for my daughter. She was able to be a part-time teller at a bank at age 18 while going through college due to her high credit score.

We always pay Bearnie's vet bills with the credit card and pay it off the same month. The reward points are choice for sure.

We named a unit of measurement, " a bearnie," and it's 2500 dollars.

Did you want to go on a vacation this month? haha, no. I suddenly feel weird. Pew Pew, gimme all your money for steriods and wet food.

both my cat and dog got kinda sick before my last trip. like y'all. calm down.

If you ever find out who the SOB is, let me know and I'll help you choke them to death. Of course ... I'd expect a homemade dinner.

Say, during WWII in the Pacific, who manned the landing craft/LSTs, etc, for the Marines; any idea? I know the Coast Guard (bless their hearts) played a large part in such landings (at least in Europe).

Didn't read everything but this whole card thing reminded me of a few different videos I've seen.

You should always look at the thing you're putting your card into. For glue or anything that just looks out of the ordinary. Pull on it pretty hard if you're that paranoid. They usually aren't put on very well from what I've heard. I've always lived in the sticks so don't even think twice about someone installing a card skimmer. It's getting easier and easier to do, and quick too.

I call Bearnie my asthma cat cause...he has severe asthma. He is on roids and an inhaler that is the exact same as mine at a lower dose. He also goes on walks and adventures with me though, so we are asthma ass kicking buddies.

He's lucky we love him so much, cause he is $$$.

They always seem to have the best timing when it comes to needing expensive things!

Coming in late:

No privileges at all. Everything taken away. (No internet, no gaming, no tv, no friends over, nothing but school and home.) All of this would have to be earned back over time. I have a thing called a "trust bank" with my kid. If he empties it, then he gets no "trust" from me until he refills the bank again. This means being grounded isn't for a set amount of time that the kid knows he just has to endure...it's an amount of time determined by his actions and what he does to earn back the trust/privileges.

I would also include hard labor. Chores, chores, chores, and more chores. All the money spent would have to be repaid (even if I did get the charges reversed, the kid needs some idea of what that money costs in terms of earning it).
thanks for this!

I had a similar experience with my 9 year old. He used money on a gaming platform that I had won from a contest to by in game items. The punishment I gave him, he could not play the video game he bought items on for 2 months, no games in general for 1 month. He had to pay me back from his allowance, and we discussed it in depth why it was bad (stealing ect.)
thank you!

having a credit score as well. My mom made me get one at 18, to start working on it. When I went to buy this car in January the salesperson was almost dumbfounded how good my credit was. it can be helpful, for sure. also, carecredit has been my friend with vet bills. no interest on certain terms.
Your mom is smart. I don't know if I would have been responsible at 18 with a credit card but I definitely think this a good idea for my son. I'm hoping to teach him budgeting tools and hopefully he'll actually use them and not blow me off lol

My dad was a Coast Guard engineer during WWII in the pacific--my mom was a WAC in the pacific too, Signal corp, passing messages for MacArthur.. He drove a LST. He said they always gave him the one with the bad motor 'cause he could run anything with a motor....scary stories, especially mother's.

Floors swept and mopped. Not to put away some dishes and clean the son's room.

My husband just texted me saying an electrician is coming over tomorrow morning. We are going to put an outlet above the fireplace so we can hang the tv above it. I'm excited to open up our living room but worried about wires and stuff for the cable running along the walls or ceiling. THat looks trashy to me.

Also, I won't be able to see the tv while i turk. That's lame.
