When my Oreck's motor gave out for the third time in 5 years(and they wanted 79 dollars for a new hose), I went to Sears and bought a 39.99 shop vac. With Hepa filter and extra hose, and bags, it was about 50 bucks. Bright red, big fat wheels, easy handle, light to pull around and change bags, and still running strong. Cheap shop vac. Can get at most places--Sears, Lowes, etc. Durable. I win....oh, and it picks up glitter and pecans and cat toys, and since it's a wet/dry affair, when you manage to jam it in the dog water bowl, you don't have to spend three days drying it out so you can use it again. I still win.
