I don't know. She just showed up, fully grown, in a tree. Wouldn't come down. My dad pointed her out to us. He'd sit on the patio reading and saw her first. She refused to come down(my mother's six dogs might have had something to do with that). After two days up that tree, I came outside and found her sitting in my dad's lap while he read. Being petted, of course...First thing she got was a trip to the vet for shots. He asked us where we got a Maine Coon cat around here....well , they grow on trees.

What great luck you had that day. I wish one would show up in my yard. Fingers crossed. ?

But mostly, I’m scared about what message we are telling our kids when faced with a threat. Instead of reason, rationality, openmindedness and altruism, we are telling them to panic, be fearful, suspicious, reactionary and self-interested.

Realism and severe caution for me (only to protect vulnerable loved ones) I say even extreme precautions are needed until we know facts, a while back the Italian Prime Minster said it was not necessary to use an abundance of caution and not to panic. For me when people say do not be afraid, do not panic, I run for the hills (decades of life lessons) I did not earn the nickname Chicken King for nothing! Even if solely to protect those in the high risk group I come in contact with.
