Cytokine storms are scary, it's a hard decision for doctors to make decisions on how to treat a patient. Do they want to help calm down the immune system but it opens up even more opportunity for the virus to do more damage or let that be, which doesn't make things any better. Many people were affected during the Spanish Flu because of that, there's been some reports patients have experienced them and they don't know how prevalent this could be for Coronavirus.
