my wife just brought her laptop to me with a look of impending doom on her face. I thought she had just reformatted her harddrive or something. Turns out she had just accepted a fake profile friend request from someone she was already friends with and had just gotten an update message from that friend telling people it was not her and that they should delete her profile and the other profile, change her password, pour out all the milk in the fridge and toss the cat out the upper story window.

I just unfriended the phony friend and told her to post a status saying she accepted a phony facebook profile so if anyone sees a request to friend her to just ignore it.

I just saw this response... I only Chrome, EVERYTHING is set up with Chrome... It's never been an issue for me in the past 3 years. What browser should do you think I should try? Firefox?

I don't mean a permanent change, just as a step to see if it's a browser specific problem and to get you up and running temporarily. You can try Firefox or a chrome clone like SRWare Iron that you'll be more familiar with. If it works perfectly there then that gives a lot of information that can be used to diagnose the problem.
