Beyond Burger is made from pea protein and Impossible from wheat and potato protein.

That's ok. meat is meat and veggies are veggies. Grew up on a farm with garden and dairy animals. So, will never be convinced to attempt to fool myself. I don't understand how why people want that stuff.

we'll have to see if the food snobs win this one. Soybean fake foods may be the next big thing. Beyond Meat had a great IPO
yesterday and I imagine Impossible Burger probably won't be far behind in going public given the success of Beyond Meat's IPO and the
seemingly increasing desire for fake foods.

Food snobs won't get me, but I am looking to cut my red meat meals to 2 a week from 4 so veggie burgers help out by giving
me the good taste of a hamburger without being a red meat serving.

If you decide to try tofu I would recommend taking the time to prepare it properly. A lot of people think it is slimy and flavorless but I use it in Asian cooking fairly often.

Buy firm or super firm tofu

1. Press the hell out of it to remove the moisture (or buy pre-pressed)
2. cut it into 2 inch cubes and bake at 350 in an oven for about 45 minutes
3. Poke holes in the baked cubes with a fork
4. Marinade the living piss out of it for anywhere between an hour and a couple days with whatever you want.
5. Cook it like you would any meat in stir fry or however you want to prepare it at that point.

I always despised the stuff but after I discovered this I love the shit out of tofu.

It's just a weird thinking thing. there is a life chain or the earth will die. are we to think plants don't feel pain too? maybe not, maybe they don't have a nervous system. anyway that's all i have to say. this doesn't belong here.

i eat less meat sometimes because eating a lot of meat upsets my stomach. Other times I am craving a steak like a crazy person.

but too much veggies hurts my stomach too. Sigh

btw, Morning all.

Hit my weekly goal yesterday and just running on autopilot. I set my shit to only look for hits that pay at least $1. Low stress end to the week.

The Curse of La Llorona was decent. Fairly predictable in spots but still full of jump scares. Not the best but worth the ticket. My 13 year old loved it.

2 pounds of strawberries were on a great sale at the kroger last week so I bought a 2lb package and I cleaned and mashed them to get ready to put on homemade belgian waffles. I ended up eating the strawberries as a side dish through the week and never got around to making the waffles.
