The Albuquerque Isotopes are "Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico" when they play in minor league Copa de la Diversion games. Unfortunately they lost to the La Familia de Tacoma today. Can't wait for the next Copa game when they play the Margaritas de El Paso, who finally went from the lame "Chihuahuas" Copa name -- matching their everyday name -- to Margaritas this season.

I'm no geography buff, but I think there are more cities in Texas than just Dallas.

Thankfully history worked out right and I don't have a west texas ego. I love the fact that the Texas/NM border north of El Paso was going to be the Rio Grande River until something happened and it was moved to the 103rd longitude line so I'm in central NM and not about 8 miles east of the Texas/NM border in Texas.

Two games are not enough for a special uniform.

It's doable. The minor league team's special occasion jerseys they wear are of the cheap fan jersey quality, not the professional quality of their primary jerseys.

MLB could save a lot of money (if they actually have to pay for the uniforms) by designing and wearing cheaper quality jerseys for special occasions and also gives them an opportunity to sell them as merch to fans who want a Mexico series jersey or whatever.
