It is very hard for me to trace mine, I had two different Grandparents that had their last names changed at Ellis Island.

Mine can't really be traced all that well, either. I guess there were way too many illegitimate children on my dad's side.

I know a girl whose parents did that with their first names to make her first name. It came out okay with what their names are but with the wrong names, that could be really awkward.

DNA tracing is really interesting. I want to try it.

But then my DNA could be on file somewhere and who knows what that could turn up
