Probably not that many? If that number includes all people who have been granted it ever and it started in 2011 and Panos says around 50% of the workers are new every year, with the "half life" of a worker being about a year. So... math that out.

But the half life of the people with masters is probably longer, both because they were more active to begin with to get it, and because they'll be more active afterwards because they're making more. They don't have data on masters specifically, I imagine?

I've been a member since 2012 but only have 20k hits and didn't get the qual. Maybe it has to do with the number of hits you've done which grants it.

No, not specifically on Masters.

Maybe this a way for amazon to destroy masters once and for all? Give everyone masters so it deflates it value and requesters will use other method for their qualifications.

That 22000 is probably inflated to high heaven. I wonder how many active masters holders there are.

and do they ever pull it due to inactivity. or close the mturk account if inactive. there is that line from amazon that says we have to maintain unknown stats to keep masters.

Not all Masters can do barcodes. There is a state qual on it, as well.
