Naw, I think we should complain. It's not right for requesters to pocket the change when what we do is and should be valuable to them. Saying something may result in a block but so what?

If you legitimately have an opinion that will help improve conditions for us, the last thing you should do is bend over so as to not make others uncomfortable.

I'm not disagreeing about contacting requesters to let them know your thoughts on their HITs and how they can improve it. But if you send "smarmy emails" or anything that's not polite, you're probably not going to convince them of anything. If it results in a block, it's not really a "so what" situation. As I and others just said, that's how MTurk accounts are suspended. But if you're okay with putting your whole MTurk account at risk, that's up to you.
