I hear you. I feel like since having kids I have no patience left in me for the poor old dog, and he's at least mine. But my mother in law also has a completely untrained furry peebomb and I don't get it, how is housebreaking this animal not a higher priority for you if you live with it every day?

Exactly. My kids and husband want a dog when we get our own house. I don't want any pets. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an animal hater, I just know the kids won't take care of the darn thing and I'll end up doing all the work because I'm here all day! It's embarrassing when my son's social worker comes over here and the carpet smells like pee. The "pet strength" carpet powder doesn't even kind of cover up a year's worth of pee smell.
