Exactly. My kids and husband want a dog when we get our own house. I don't want any pets. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an animal hater, I just know the kids won't take care of the darn thing and I'll end up doing all the work because I'm here all day! It's embarrassing when my son's social worker comes over here and the carpet smells like pee. The "pet strength" carpet powder doesn't even kind of cover up a year's worth of pee smell.

Absolutely the same situation here. I grew up longing for a dog of my own and never thought I'd feel this way, but I have been referring to my old buddy as "Our Last Dog" haha
