For those with kids whose income is low, look up internet essentials. We got it through my daughter's school several years ago and they've never asked for additional documentation. So, our internet is less than 10 a month.

I've never played a video game, unless you count that subway surfer thing that was on my daughter's kindle. (OMG, I hated it. I played obsessively to win......and then the rhythm got stuck in my brain and I relived it while I was sleeping.....not the game...so much......just the rhythm. I can't play games.....).

But it's fast enough for us. (Well, me. She wants to upgrade....get Netflix...which I am happy to do. As soon as she gets a job and pays for it
