This is a very valid point/consideration. I've experienced it with two therapists who tried to paint my LGBT status as a disorder, and one who basically stopped even trying to help me when she found out that I was. I've also seen it happen or heard about it happening too many times. Thanks for putting that awareness out there, SweetiePuff!
