My boyfriend is Mexican and he says it tends to be accurate in some areas? that can be said for just about any stereotype though. but I have no clue

Little late to this conversation but I'm Mexican living in California. Laziness is a trait people can have outside of race. I wouldn't say it's accurate in some areas because it's mainly dependent on the person and not the race. In general though, Mexicans are hard working because we're taught we have to prove ourselves and our worth of being here. My family has worked in agriculture (grandparents still do), and they have stories of people working in the fields and not getting paid or getting immigration called on them once the work is done. I think the stereotype stems from the idea that Mexicans come here to just be on welfare. However, someone else pointed out how can we be lazy and take your jobs?
