07/01 - Sunnyland Sunday!

The last three times I tried to make them it was awful so I gave up. They are cheap to make though.

edit: my fault, not the recipes.

I tried to make taquitos and drowned them miserably in too much oil, ending up with greasy, disgusting, oil-soaked tortillas with some stuff inside. They had about 2 square inches of crisp tortilla between 4 medium taquitos.
I feel failure to initially grasp the techniques of cooking Mexican food is pretty much expected of anyone.
It's not always as easy as it seems.

don't worry my wife can't cook for shit either, but she has some other very fine qualities

I've been very lucky that fiance doesn't like facny stuff. throw a piece of chicken at him and he's good. Otherwise I'd have to learn some other skills.

I like cooking and my food turns out pretty okay but my husband and kids don't have taste buds. So I always end up making boring stuff. Favorite thing my husband said regarding cooking/food: "You can't overcook pork."
