If you go back through old MTG threads from like 2-3 years ago, you'll notice several likes on like every posted HIT. Back when I was one of the main HIT posters over there it wasn't uncommon at all to get 10+ likes, and even positive rep (which we thankfully don't have here), for posting a great HIT. I'm not sure when all of that stopped, but it makes me feel like we're being unappreciative.
we are.. i'm guilty

I just want to address a few things. We've been having some problems lately where people are complaining about certain things being posted in the work threads. Some people have been trying to discourage others from posting certain HITs, reporting their earnings, and even mentioning how many HITs they've done. All this does is discourage people from talking about work on a work forum and the end result is that people just end up leaving. It's gotten so bad that we've even had members requesting self-bans because they don't want to come back. All of this needs to stop right now. This is a work forum. it's okay to talk about work here and I don't want to see anyone trying to say otherwise.

Also, does anyone actually do the HITs that get posted on this forum? We ran a poll asking that sometime last year and I seem to recall that quite a few people did. I think we can be better about showing a little appreciation to the people that take time to find HITs for all of us. If you pick something up off the forum, throw that person a like or something. If we can all drop 10+ likes on random red panda pics, then surely we can toss out a like on something that's helping us get paid. I know it seems silly, but it really can make someone feel appreciated for posting something.
definitely. sharing work and helping each other is what makes us grow and become better workers.

the only way we can finally get rid of the "accepted" 6.00 an hour bullshit is if all the workers realize there are better things to work on and they dont have to accept that pay.

I know me and ShadowWolf comb through the daily work threads to see what's been posting that day and for big HITs that are worth Pandaing for the day, for what it's worth. I don't just stalk the forum and post gifs and smilies and one-liners.

I think we should post just hits that are good or look good. I don't think it benefits us posting all the hits from Hit Finder here. My personal "filter" is: working just on the recommended hits.
I am sorry if I am hurting anyone with this post.

Do you know what I miss? I miss all of the random Z questions in the morning.
What is a Z? Why do they all have an error? What is the cap? Did anyone cap yet?

It's not the hits that get posted on the board that's anywhere near the problem. It's the silly politics
If there's a problem that you think isn't being addressed, please post about it here and maybe we can work on solving it:
Forum Guidelines and Moderation Discussion Thread

Making passive-aggressive comments and snide remarks to staff members isn't going to solve anything, other than getting yourself edited/banned/whatever. I'm all about having a productive discussion, but you have to meet me half way. I can't know everything that you're thinking.

I'll reply with the usual disclaimer when that comes up: what looks good to you might be awful for me. For example, maybe you love writing HITs and I hate them. Or vice versa. As long as people aren't sharing HITs that are obvious scams, clearly total garbage, etc., I think we're all fine when sharing. :)

But what's the definition of "look good" ? There's $1 surveys that take seconds and $5 ones that take an eternity. Not really much way to tell just from what we're seeing off HF (and by the time you investigate, it's long gone already)

This is valid. I actually DO "like" 90% of the hits I grab from here(assuming they're worth doing). There's a good amount that really shouldn't even be posted though. TBH I think the nomination process for hit poster is a contributing factor.

Not to sound sentimental but I feel like everything in the "mturk world" moves faster now. We catch hits faster and they disappear faster. I don't think it's anything intentional, but you're right, we should take a moment to appreciate those that tirelessly post hits.

And an even bigger moment for those that post a review/time along with the hit.

What are your settings like for catching Zoltars? I have mine set at -500ms, actually going back in time and breaking the fabric of time and space, but I can't catch any :pensive:
