I cannot sleep without a box fan on high for both the air circulation as well as the natural white noise. I honestly believe a box fan had a lot to do with kiddo sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old. Or it could have nothing to do with it. ( I never had the fan pointed in her direction for safety reasons.)
