it's very rare that I get that stomach clenchy feeling
but that's because while I was quitting, I redefined what the cigarette breaks were
I redefined for myself WHY smoking relieved stress
as it turns out, the reason smoking relieves stress is because you create a five minute bubble where you're able to smoke
sure, some people might smoke all the time, at the computer for example
but many people take five minutes to go outside
and for me, it was the going outside and away from everything, that actually made the cigarette worthwhile.
so it wasn't the cigarette I wanted.
it was only that I wanted to remove myself and create me-time.
once I realized that the cigarette wasn't a part of it, my addiction literally crumbled, much like a pile of styrofoam blocks on a slightly windy day
