When I'm standing in line at Walmart I am thinking why did I decide to come to Walmart today.
I think that every time I'm checking people out. LOL, I had one customer who had a gift card and so I hit shop card and scan the card. It wouldn't work no matter what I did. So I had to call a CSM over. She couldn't get it to work either. Then the register froze up, or so she thought. Found out, customer had left his credit/debit card in the machine. Geez.

$800/month. Wow, must be nice. Tell me how you eat on $150 month for 2 people. I'm lucky if I come out of Walmart with under $100/week in groceries, and that's with a discount. Do you shop at Aldi?
Aldi, walmart, and publix. Publix only BoGos because they give you the 1 half off if you don't buy 2. Walmart for things that I notice are cheaper but I tend to avoid it. Aldi for most boxed goods. Publix veggies if I can't grow them myself. I also have a very cheap asian store that sell 15$ for a 15 lbs bag of rice. Mostly rice and beans with a 'treat' once a week. We eat 1 to 2 meals a day. No snacking. If you're hungry for a snack you might get a piece of toast if water doesn't sate it. and 'treat' is being a full meat meal with 1-2 sides and that's for dinner.

I had WIC for a few years after I had my kids and always got a lot of dirty looks from people behind me because I had to pay with the WIC checks (the card didn't exist back then). I always wondered why WIC was so strict but you could buy almost anything with EBT. I never qualified for that.
Well at least WIC makes you buy healthy foods, I don't mind that.

I at least am close to meeting my "slow day goal" today. How is everyone else doing?

Bless you. Some days are just rough. I was in line the other day and the checker was having a hard time taking something off of the receipt so she had to call for help. I could tell she was having a "day' so I just encouraged her and wished for her to have a better day.

I am going to celebrate my 30th birthday with champagne and lasik surgery.
I have thought about getting Lasik, my eyesight is not so bad yet and I'm probably a good candidate for it. But mainly what prevents me from it is that I look damn sexy with my glasses, and also my level of poverty. So I guess mainly the second thing.

I wouldn't care if it let you get some niceties too, but what pisses me off is seeing a woman with a buggy (saw this yesterday) with 8 cases of soda, 4 sundrop-4 mnt dew. and then like 4 packs of steaks. and I'm talking the GOOD steaks, like rib-eye teir. Her total was like 80-100, couldn't tell fully as I was walking away. That's my food budget mostly and junk! And then those same people cry they aren't getting enough! /RAGE

What scares me is the whole laser in the eye thing. The eye doctor said I should get it. But also the poor thing.

Have you tried to make your own bread? It's cheaper than buying it in the store, and healthier. I really need to cut down on groceries and try to at least try to do $75/week.
