In my opinion, they ruined it for themselves. They started changing the qualifications they used to vet workers. Once upon a time I had a qualification with them for giving good feedback, or something to that effect. I was actually able to get the HITs when they posted. They removed the writing requirement, they lowered the pay, and lowered the bar to 100 approved HITs. What did they think was going to happen? I don't even bother trying to get them anymore when they post because they get absolutely mobbed. I genuinely love medical stuff and was interested in providing quality feedback, but they seemed to stop caring about that. You're right in that a few people probably ruined it, but CSats themselves left the door wide open for them to do so.

They already got their stats of high quality work, they are charging a fortune based on false quality assessment. Simple business pump and dump then it will go back to the way it was before as in we won't be the ones judging the footage.

While we're on the topic of pay cuts, here's one: what's the most shameful HIT you've ever done, pay-wise? For me, it was the Oscars when they were around. I've had a few rough surveys too. 20 minutes for a quarter.

A requester who broke off over a year ago and started his own workplace had us call up restaurants for times other information. As soon as the restaurant answered the lady was almost in tears saying that she had been getting calls all day and couldn't handle it. I refuse to do any phone work since then.

Some $0.00 qual batch where the requester approved the HITs and gave the qual to the people he wanted (not me) and rejected the HITs for the people who he didn't want (me). Then he disposed of the batch so they couldn't even be reversed.
