And there are depressions caused by circumstances that no amount of drugs, legal or illegal, are going to effect in any way, even if enough gas gets into that tank.

I have been on antidepressants for what they called clinical depression when I was younger (I now see it as episodic depression, it was the 90s though and docs loved to diagnose people with clinical depression back then), and for the grief of losing my daughter. I can tell ya, meds didn't even TOUCH the grief depression. I might as well have been chewing bubble gum and hoping for the sugar to help me feel better.

I've always advocated, in most cases, a combo of meds and talk therapy. Finding the RIGHT med and the RIGHT therapist can be a true bitch, though, and when you're depressed can make you want to say fukital and stop trying :(

Between this Healey survey and the Siddarth access code fiasco, I feel like requesters are just yanking us around for shits and giggles. No wonder many of us are depressed. Maybe I should just blow off the rest of the day.

AVClub has a good article about teen death songs of the 50's-60's. Leader of the Pack, Last Kiss, Dead Man's Curve, and their ilk. Maybe that'll cheer me up at this point....
