Don't laugh - but does she have ADHD, probably ADD primarily inattentive. You would be amazed at the havoc ADHD can do your life and relationships. And, yep, I do know from experience.

It's funny, this was my first thought also. And me too. The most frustrating thing in the world, and trying harder makes it worse. I married someone (2nd husband) with a much worse case, and though my ex husband would have been a jerk no matter what, i kinda feel for him just a bit for having to live with me.
