Interesting! I've never got yelled out. However, I probably would have been scared shitless. However, since I'm from Mexican heritage. In my family respect for elders is important. Hence, "Senora or Senor" is used to show respect for your elders. In English I use Ma'm or Sir. I've never had an issue. Then again, I always ask if it is okay to refer to said person as "Sir or Ma'm." 99% of the people love it. I think it comes down to preference. Shit. I think it is remarkable being called "Boss" when going out on a date to restaurant by a waiter (waitresses use Sir, which is also cool.) You bet your ass you get a nice TIP when the date is over and the check/time to pay has come.Oh also, last thing, I swear, a kid at my last job, uh, man, young man, he called me ma'm. I literally yelled at him. Do not call me mam! I don't yell. I hardly talk half the time (irl ok?) I didn't realize that I thought anything other than it being polite for a young man to say ma'm. But when he said excuse me 'mam', I went off. I think he was scared. And I do not live in the south, or it mighta been ok.
50% in on the first and this is not fun, lol. I'm still gonna do all of them tonight, sigh.Since turking, my threshold for pain has increased dramatically.
I think the extra stuff kada added into thread tools does a notification, but you need live update for it (I think).I don't think there's an addon/extension/script that does all of that.
There's live update (donation perk) and things will show up as they are posted, but it won't give you a little pop-up.
There's also the new hit sound/notify, (also donation perk) but I've never tried that >,> so I don't know how it works.
In general, RSS feeds update however often you set them. Depending on the RSS client, there will be different time options. I use Feeder which has 1 minute as the most frequent update check (I have most things set to 6-12 hours).I feared as much. Perhaps adding these threads to an RSS feed might work, but I'm not sure how often RSS feeds update, or if it would vary.
One minute would be too long to catch epic hits I imagine. I'm thinking I'll just put this tab on a 10 second refresh, and stack it on top of my hitscraper to one side.In general, RSS feeds update however often you set them. Same, I'd feel weird and rude if I didn't say it. (Unless I was friends with the person.)Here in the south it is just part of how we are raised. Ma'm and Sir are just part of the vernacular. No offense is meant by it. I say it to all ages though.
I would def recommend donating. The live update is amazing. Plus you'll help the community. One minute would be too long to catch epic hits I imagine. I'm thinking I'll just put this tab on a 10 second refresh, and stack it on top of my hitscraper to one side.
Yes, 1 minute would be way too long if you're trying to catch HITs. If turn on Live Update, it'll auto-update the thread every few seconds automatically for you.One minute would be too long to catch epic hits I imagine. What if you call a dude 'sir' and it turns out the dude is a 'ma'am'
It happens. What if you call a dude 'sir' and it turns out the dude is a 'ma'am'
I did a few. It's hard to find many of them so I didn't think it was worth a lot of time.
I have actually done this and the person just smiled. What if you call a dude 'sir' and it turns out the dude is a 'ma'am'
