They are both checked. I hear the sound but no desktop notification. I can only get a desktop notification if I'm in FF, not if I'm in Chrome.

you might need to allow notifications for the forum. i usually get a pop up asking if it is ok for the site to show notifications,

if you click on the little lock icon directly to the left of the url for the forum you will get a drop down menu, make sure notifications is set to allow.
it may just be an "i" in a circle instead of a lock.

I'm trying get my niece interested in Legos but it usually ends up with me buildings the sets, with some really ambitious ideas about how I'm gonna link them together and make a whole city while she gets bored and watches Netflix instead.

I'm basically buying Peppa Pig sets for myself.
