if she only uses it for the time you said. who cares really? it's still fun, plays games and has amazon underground with all the free apps. Worth the cost of restriction and if it saves you money.

Have you tried a factory reboot? That does sound rather odd. I've had my kindle fire for almost 4yrs without issue (anecdotal, i know lol).

yea, after a few videos, the tablet starts to die.
they've all been acer iconia tablets
they look and feel solid though

You can install stock android onto the Kindle though.

I'm not as technically savvy as my mother probably thinks I am

Both my boys have kindle fires. They are bomb proof. Lasted several years too.

Ours have Samsung tablets that are probably 3 years old and still going strong.

OT since it's Saturday and probably slow. Suggestions for a 10" tablet without spending a fortune. What kinds? My hubby wants one and I have no experience with tablets but I don't want to spend a lot on it because I don't know how much he will really use it. He watches some YouTube, Facebook etc. Would appreciate any help lol P.S. He's not very computer literate. I have to help him a lot with things so simple lol What about a separate keyboard also?
