lol! I don't think I'm gonna tell him they're liars, just that it's another way to play pretend, I guess? I dunno yet.

oh yeah, definitely gonna tell him not to ruin it for other kids! I just remember how it felt when I was kid and all these other kids were getting tons of toys from santa and I...wasn't. I don't want kiddo to think that just because he doesn't get as much stuff as other kids means he's bad, ya know?

lol! part of me wants to, but once he starts drawing connections/comparisons between what he gets and what other kids get, idk it just makes me worry
What we told my son is that part of the decision of how many presents he gets is not just if he has been good but how good he has been (he was having bad behavior issues last year and kind fell off the wagon if you will the last couple months) but also that Santa usually chooses just a few from your list to give and that the ones he brings have to be approved by mom and dad :p The last thing is because of things like video games he sees but we don't want him playing.

Got a picolang with words that would be difficult for a native speaker to say. Jeez.

I remember being about 4 and my mom leaving me with my grandmother to go on a vacation at Christmas with her new husband. She must have felt guilty because there were gifts from her and a ton from Santa. And I remember thinking "Wow! I know Santa isn't real, but as long as I don't let her know I'll get extra gifts!"

I am 33 years old. My oldest brother will be 50 next year. My mother REFUSES to tell us how she and my dad got our presents under the tree during midnight mass one year. Refuses. Obviously it was probably a neighbor? Cousins? I'll never know b/c the woman insists it was friggen Santa.
I love that. I wish I could have kept that up with my kid.

I should have just said, "As long as you believe, there will be presents from him!"

Now I say, "Thank goodness I don't have to give someone else credit for all the stuff I buy you!"

I tried doing the Neil deGrasse Tyson thing with my kids and not confirming or denying Santa, just vague "Oh, I have heard people mention that before." But it backfired and now my almost-five year old just thinks I'm an idiot. "Mom, Santa IS real! He's right there! You can SEE him!" And since he can read, now, I guess he's going to see Santa's name on his presents in my handwriting and he can figure that out himself
so, he's implying you're an idiot for not noticing "obvious" things, and is ruining everyone's fun? sounds like neil degrasse tyson to me! :D

I told my son when he asked why Santa brought some kids big ticket gifts, "Because sometimes Moms and Dads help Santa out, and sometimes Moms and Dads want to give their kids the bigger items and tell Santa not to bring those." I told my kid I wanted to buy him the big stuff when I could afford it, so I asked Santa to only bring the smaller things.

With Mia I'm going to replace Santa with Ozzy.

I'll probably start dressing up as Ozzy every Christmas starting next year and hand out presents.

Don't write on the presents. I never did. I bought special Santa wrapping paper (with Santa's face on it) and all those gifts were, obviously, from Santa.

Course, I only have one kid to get Santa gifts for so I didn't have to write names, but if my daughter were still here I would have totally printed lables on the computer, lol.

I was made to believe santa had an accident with a jet, and 4/7 reindeer didn't make it through the ordeal.

Is complaining about specific words people have been asked to say in Picolangs survey content?

My kid is also the kid who decided to stop believing in the tooth fairy before he lost all of his baby teeth.

When he didn't want to put one of his teeth under the pillow I was shocked, thought he was a bit touched in the head there, but figured I now had more money to spend on me.

lol! I want to do what my sister does. She calls it the Switch Witch. She takes the tooth and leaves some kind of little toy or activity book.
