Speaking of common sense and its absence from Amazon...yesterday had a Lyft ride...driver was a young woman . She was exhausted. She is an Amazon warehouse worker...does 10 shifts in a row of 12 hours each! Why isn't that illegal? 10 days straight , 12 hours a day. This is in Sacramento CA
not surprising. I've heard their warehouse jobs are exhausting.
It's legal as long as they pay her overtime. (By ours over, each day, or week, depending on the state.)

Sounds like turking hours. personally, I feel like if I want to work that many hours, I should be allowed to if I need the money.

I mostly agree, and could support that if you're talking about turking or a warehouse job but driving other people around in a car as a Lyft driver or otherwise being responsible for the health and safety of others when you're tired doesn't seem like a safe idea. There are similar conversations around limiting the number of hours that doctors and surgeons can or should work, for the same safety-of-others reasons.
