Good Morning,
Wanted to tell you all something we have here in KCMO

I live close to downtown KCMO. Last Friday, a woman in her 70s that my grand daughter considers her friend wanted to take us to lunch. The woman has no money so I had said no several times offering her something instead. We finally went to lunch with her at her favorite place in town.

It is our local soup kitchen. They have waiters, you are seated when you come in, asked what you would like and treated better than any five star restaurant. It was good for my 3 year old grand daughter to see that but also to remember those that I tend to overlook when I walk down the street.

I was able to give a donation but I still think it is the greatest thing I have seen in a long time and makes me glad to live in a city that cares.

In all seriousness, the struggle does seem to have become more real, but for randomness or days where the music, coffee, and hits line up perfectly. Closed quals saved the day, more often than not. Even this summer was a bigger money rush than the fall, which was incredibly unusual.

I agree... I made more this summer than this fall which is rare for mturk usually my summers are the worst time of year regarding mturk unless I get some spectacular qual during those months.

Everyone in my neighborhood has one of them. My first instinct was to say, "Those are going to get stolen. That is just way too easy to steal."

3 days later, nobody had a lightshow.

Turns out it's too easy to steal.

Yea. The crazy part is my neighbors have them as well. Mine was the only one stolen. I guess it was because it was the easiest to grab (close to the side walk etc).

You know what's funny (in a really 'not funny' way?)
Three years ago, I had this idea that medicine was something much
closer to an exact science. Something was wrong, they looked at you
did a test, or took an xray or whatever,
and knew exactly what the problem was, and fixed you and
you went on with your life.
Wow was I completely delusional.

My mom lied to me a lot when I was child (she was a drug addict and dealer) so I swore to never lie to my kids. It has been a lot harder than I ever expected. Trying to explain things to a 5 year old is much easier when you can paint it with a fairy tale.
