i was bored and browsing it last night

I'm not saying you shouldn't pay your taxes.

I'm just saying that it's better to spend that money on a jet ski.

Thanks guys! I do have a regular 9-5 and I'm claiming my kid so hopefully they wont take much from me. I know I should save some for taxes and maybe I'll be able to at some point but atm I need all the money I earn.

can you increase the tax withholding at your work? like if you claim 2, switch it to 1 or even 0, or if you claim 0 right now, add additional dollars of withholding. then you are less likely to owe. if it comes right off your paycheck you're less liable to notice the pain IME.

if you know about how much you'll be getting from all your sources, go to turbotax and put in the values and see what it comes up with, if you're curious for right now.

can you increase the tax withholding at your work? like if you claim 2, switch it to 1 or even 0, or if you claim 0 right now, add additional dollars of withholding. then you are less likely to owe. if it comes right off your paycheck you're less liable to notice the pain IME.

yea, the spot of the w4 that allows additional withholding. I have always withheld between $5 and $10 per week.
I don't even look at it as money I'm not getting each week.
it just makes my tax bill smaller
