>_>

I surfed for about 14 years and still hated touching the bottom at reef breaks.. and then there's the rips and whatnot and all the goopy shit floating around
my ocean has sandy bottoms, no goopy shit, but it does have riptides, which aren't really a problem except for kids, non-swimmers and people prone to panic. I haven't stood on a stick in 30 years

I just stay on the beach and dip my toes in. Maybe...only maybe will I go in at the knees. The fish like to come up around my legs and I just can't handle all that nonsense.
I don't even like seaweed touching me. I flip my shit.

It's nice to look at but I only go in with shoes and no deeper than just below my knees. Too many creepy crawlies and predators.
It's the deeper dark areas that freak me the eff out >.>

Nobody is gonna convince me there isn't a megalodon waiting to eat me personally

I hate the ocean. It terrifies me :biblethump:
The ocean scares me because it's unfathomably deep. I should be scared of rivers though because I have been close to drowning in them twice in my life.

Depending on where you are it's actually kind of bad now. There was seemingly huge surfing boom (at least in my area) and anywhere half decent was filled to the brim with kooks. People would drop in on every single wave no matter what. Even at 6 AM it was awful

I'm thinking of getting a paddle board at some point just to get in the water tho

Tip for anyone doing A9s: make sure to keep an eye out for profanity/nudity/personal info, got a rejection once for missing that
also watching for boxes with shipping labels with addresses on them, idiots holding out their driver's license, license plates, etc

I never worried as much on the west coast. Beaches were nastier with vegetation than east coast but the water was generally too cold for sharks ans shit like that. Atlantic Ocean... no thank you.

Octopuses are amazing animals. So freaking smart, I wish they lived longer so that they could accumulate more knowledge in their life and maybe one day develop a civilization and kill us all.

millions of people swim in the ocean every year on the east coast and only a few get bit by sharks. Your odd of getting bit are infinitesimal. I will also swim in lakes and rivers, but geez, how can someone be afraid of a nice clean clear ocean but think swimming the same place people go noodling and dick snapping turtles abound

We used to go camping in south Missouri and these are in the river there. We would get in and wade in the water up to our stomachs. until I found out these were hanging out around a bridge where we were entering. Oh and this lady is just some woman I found on the internet holding one. She's braver than me.
