I wonder what age this happens roughly. Kitty is 8 years old in human years as of April.

You could never say. Every cat is different. But, I think it happens. Sometime they'll still be playful and cute but, they'll have way less patience if they don't catch the feather. Sometimes they don't get grumpy. But, if it's a hectic house, like mine was when I was a kid, they just get fed up with the movement and noise. They know where the food is so, they lose a lot of hunt and tend to do a lot more sunning and/or hiding where it's quiet.
But, they're still kinda cute when their grumpy. Especially if their yours. You get used to their character. They usually have to be pretty old so, some don't make it, I'm sure. And there's no warning. It just happens one day.

really is a crappy day ton AMT oday. oh well. it's friday and i'm basically up nearly $200 on the day after just picking up a new desk chair for free from an office that's replacing all its furniture. no more sitting on one of the collapsible camper's chairs while i'm working! As far as her weight, I wouldn't react too quickly. I don't know how long it's been since she changed but, if she wasn't a fan before, she'd be eating just enough to satisfy herself. If she now likes it, she'll do a bit of pleasure eating. But, if it's dry food, more food means more water, just because it's dry. There's always a bit of fluctuation when there's a change of diet, which is much more noticeable on a svelte feline, rather than a tubby tabby. But,, if you haven't increased her calories available from food significantly, then it tends to work itself out. Her activity level should go up accordingly, which also makes for a more annoying animal. Mixing it isn't a bad idea. I'm just saying don't worry too much about it, yet. She's still young, right? If so, she'll be able to adjust in a change of diet pretty well, usually.

Oh she's a tiny thing, but she's had this food for a while now. A few weeks at least. She's just being MUCH more of a PITA about it recently. She's 3 though and 100% still kittenlike. She's never ever been food driven before this flavor, though!

She also gets sardines every so often.
