Look at the email address it is coming from and if it doesn't look like the official one, report it as a phishing attempt.
The problem is that it does look like it came from Netflix. I contacted them thru chat and they said that they couldn't see it.

Edit *by "it looks like it came from Netflix", I mean it is the same email address that they use to send things to me normally.

I received an email from Netflix saying that there was a sign in to my account early in the morning from China. I went to Netflix and the only sign-ins that they show are from my IP address, and not for the time the email said. Do you think it was a scam email? I went ahead and signed out of all the devices and changed my passwords.....
i get emails like that all the time saying thanks for your itunes purchase or something. the email it is from is always some long crap with a bunch of numbers, not itunes or any official company sites. i never click on links in emails unless i do that first.

Usually scammers doing the scam email thing can use an email even if it isn't their own by putting it in the "from" section. I edited my post to include the help section from Netflix that gives good instructions on what to do. Sometimes the email also looks legit but has like one letter or something off. If you're already talking to them and changed passwords and stuff you're probably good.

I got one of those a few weeks ago, from India I think. Didn't know if it was real either so I did what you did, signed out and changed password and did not use the email link but opened a new tab and manually put in addy.

do my laptop and desktop have the same ip address? excuse me if this is a dumb question lol
technically, no, but the IP address being looked at is not the internal (in your home) IP address. the outside world cannot see beyond your router to know how many devices you have connected to it. The IP address being looked at by AMT is the external IP address, the one distributed by your internet provider.
Very simplified description of network routing:
desktop IP: 192.168.1.2/ laptop IP: 192.168.1.3>-Gateway/Router/Modem (Internal Private IP: 192.168.1.1 External Routable IP: 65.55.34.12)>-<ISP IP 65.55.34.1

Public Internet cannot see beyond the 65.55.34.12 IP Address so it does not know that there are two devices online. It only knows that there is one device online, the Gateway/Router/Modem. The Gateway distributes IP Addresses that are classed as private/internal/non-routable addresses to your home network. The ISP distributes public/external/routable IP addresses to its customers' routers.
So, if you're trying to take the same hit from two different devices connected to your home network, you cannot. AMT can only see the 65.55.34.12 address and therefore that would be two different attempts to take the same hit from the same IP Address.
