1. After scraping junk, I finally landed two $1+ surveys at the same time. Goal made.
1a. I did find three surveys in the world of junk that allotted me bonuses, although one was only a nickel. Perhaps I should check out the low denom. surveys more often.
2. The power has flickered twice now. Not feeling good about keeping power on throughout this ice/snow ordeal. We have not switched to snow yet, and are expecting 6+ inches after having freezing rain all day. And high winds.

My father had oral surgery this week, so I went to the grocery store to stock up on soft-food meal ingredients and it was like frickin' lord of the flies in there. I'm glad I went prepared.

I'm on a main road, so I don't expect to lose power. But with 1-2 feet of snow, I'm going to have to go out several times to try to clear it . inc. after dark - just to get it moved before it freezes. I don't mind shoveling, once or twice - but this is going to be an event......

Min. 15" expected here - could be 24" with sleet on top of it. We live on an island, so when a squirrel walks sideways across the bridge, the power blinks out. I installed a generator here about 10 years ago. Doesn't do the whole house but it covers the important stuff - boiler, well pump, refrigerator, microwave, and DSL modem/wifi router, and a few lights. A whole house generator would be like $10K, so I'm not quite up for that. We have lots of oil lamps, and that's actually perfectly OK with me.

Fuel tank is topped up and the gas cans are full. Bring it!
