We got ~9" of snow last weekend somewhat unexpectedly and everyone survived. This weekend, they predicted 4-6" and the entire town (minus me) freaked out.

We ended up with less than an inch. :rolleyes:

Moral of the story: always keep your fridge and deep freeze stocked you can avoid the crazies that forecast shop.

Day drinking and Star Trek it is then.
What did Jerami @Jerami say?
C'mon up. Next year the house will be paid off, and I think I might get a little place down in South Florida for the winter. The place will be all yours for the snow months!
Don't tease me I'll be dreaming about that place!

I woul

I'd love to have snow here for 2 days max, Any more than that is an issue. And on the weekend is a plus, I like when my kids leave the house and go to school lol
I got a loud-mouthed husky so she loves being able to get out in her natural environment.
She absolutely begs for walks in bad weather lol.

Min. 15" expected here - could be 24" with sleet on top of it. We live on an island, so when a squirrel walks sideways across the bridge, the power blinks out. I installed a generator here about 10 years ago. Doesn't do the whole house but it covers the important stuff - boiler, well pump, refrigerator, microwave, and DSL modem/wifi router, and a few lights. A whole house generator would be like $10K, so I'm not quite up for that. We have lots of oil lamps, and that's actually perfectly OK with me.

Fuel tank is topped up and the gas cans are full. Bring it!
boiler = heat?

For anyone who's interested, this is a picture from my little island that I took on my way home last night. This is a bay that opens up between our island and the next one over. There are a dozen or so little islands and ledges in between. This time of year, this particular little cut in the rocks gets filled up with ice, downed trees, and seaweed.
