Speaking of, does anyone know what happened with the person who got a $100 bonus instead of a $1.00 one. the requester said they were going to reverse it but there were people who thought they could not undo a bonus once it had been given.

I don't know about that specifically but I remember a case of that happening around when I started turking.

Can't reverse a bonus.
Though a few people gave it back......or at least claimed to.

I don't think anyone actually knows. I'm still convinced they aren't doing it manually that it's something to do with their internal grading system.
