Someone who is a requester and posts batches will probably have a better answer to this than me, but I think it's some combination of it taking longer for the HITs to get done, screwing up the order of completion, and probably just the annoyance of knowing your HITs are being "used" but not actually done.
I remember watching a youtube video with jon brelig a while ago. He had a stat of how long it took his average hit to get accepted by a turker. I'm guessing copytext has the same stat and they got annoyed by people messing it up.

I myself don't use peoples hits just to clear a captcha, (not judging by the way) I have however gotten a hit and had to return it because it didn't make sense or because it didn't load correctly and sometimes this happens more or less depending on the hit. I suppose they would be able to tell though due to the number you return maybe without ever doing any of their hits??? Just a guess.

oh, sort of like a little shack, but without outside access?

yea, the best method of dog prevention I've come across, was blocking it off with a baby gate, since most cats can jump to it easily, but the dogs can't.
however, you've mentioned that this cat isn't a jumper
kind of. it's enclosed and she can get in and out of the litter box from the house through a cat door, but she can't get into the litter box from outside (otherwise the dogs would be able to get into it). Here's a pic I took earlier today when I banished her and you can see the litter box enclosure on the right.

Requesters can't tell if you return their HIT unless they build something into their HIT to show that. If you're just using MTurk default as it's set up, you can't see who has returned a HIT, only submitted.

I think somebody said Copytext has their stuff external from Mturk. I remember reading it on Reddit. That would explain how they know stuff is being returned.

CopyText is publishing using an externalquestion structure, which means the HIT is being hosted on their own server.

Requesters who do this can see everything - when you preview a HIT, when you skip a HIT, when accept, submit, return or abandon a HIT. They can see how long you spent on every page, even where you clicked on a page.

That type of thing often comes about bc of an illness. Even is she were holding it or avoiding the litter box simply bc of sanitation or preferences or whatever, that warrants a check up to see if it led to an infection. Cat are very sensitive to UTIs and such. Their illnesses are easy to see in hindsight, but it's hard to tell for yourself until you get a diagnosis and learn what your cat does in that situation.

I take it this has been a somewhat slow week for everyone. I could only pick up a hit here and there when I had a little pocket of time so I can't really say.
