everyone has their own reasons for smoking. I started in college and continued through even after both my parents and 3 siblings all quit years ago. Mine was simple.. i didn't give a flip about quitting. LOL there's that must be smoker survey again. I don't understand the nicorette or vaping or any of that.. the addiction to nicotine still has a hold on anyone doing either of those things or using a patch. It has always seemed to be a cheat to me. My brother vapes and i swear he uses that thing more frequently that he would've smoked.

Nicotine patches ease you through the withdrawal period when people try to quit. The carcinogens from smoking aren't an issue anymore (so your lung cancer risk goes down for starters).I don't know as much about vaping, but the American Heart Association does say it's safer for the same reasons. Still, the number one thing that has to happen when people want to quit is they want to. Their reasons for quitting have to be more important to them than their reasons for continuing.

Having seen a lot of unpleasant cancer cases in just 6 weeks... I encourage anyone who has any interest in quitting at all to think what'd help them quit. (okay I'm stepping off my soapbox now)
