Stuff like this genuinely pisses me off. Having a place to live should not be so expensive.

I agree. I mean it's not like I'm trying to live beyond my means. Very few places are cheaper than where I live. These places are too small to get a roommate unless you want to share a bed with someone you're not married to or don't know very well.

I used to live in Michigan as a kid. Went back there recently. I love it, but the winters can cost you with heating costs and other related costs.
