it was definitely a nice change of pace when i visited. ive been to a lot of states and Texas and California are probably my favs. not all of Texas, but honestly Houston is rapidly expanding. i do like living here. just wish the living costs were lower. and of course they're only going to go up as the attraction goes up. catch 22
Would consider it but I just finished moving 5 months ago. I was in a really nice three bedroom house in a close by neighborhood and was paying $1K a month for rent. Had to move because it's cheaper and we weren't working at the time.

yeah same thing with cities like portland just ask W @WalkingEmphasis all the folks with ok money that lived in norcal moved there and drove the prices up. I have a few friends in the austin area and one in houston. Cool cities. I've been to sxsw in austin a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. I'd say you'll probably enjoy cities like LA, san francisco / san jose , portland, seattle. Great sprawling fun cities with lots to do. Definitely cities that appeal to folks in their 20s and 30s. After that it might get boring

PLUS, you have to earn at least 2.5 times the rent. Some places require 3 or 4 times the rent for everyone living in that apartment. That means that each person has to make at least 30K to live there.
That's ridiculous. And people wonder why adult children are living with their parents more and more...
