I gave up sodas several years ago just because I was tired of the constant sugar crashes mid-day. My office has a free to all fountain machine and I was drinking DP like water all day every day. I'd crash around 3. Finally one day just said to heck with it and replaced sodas with water. I still drink coffee and regular unsweetened tea for my caffeine and just because but sodas are a total no go. I don't even drink mixed drinks that use coke or sprite or 7 up or the like. That means no jack and coke for me and that used to be one of my favorite mixed drinks.

A month ago I stopped drinking sodas and putting sugar in my coffee. I lost 20 pounds since then and my blood pressure went from 148 to now a normal 118. So yeah. I think there something to not taking the sugar in our drinks.
Still got another 20 to lose to get to my 180 pound goal,but to cut the lose 40 pound weight loss goal in half by just not taking sugar in my drinks is pretty cool!

Will one you people make my husband quit for real? He's using nicotine patches but he still smokes some too. He just started the patches like three days ago, though.

The hardest rule about humans is that you can only change yourself, never other people, no matter how much love is shared between you both.

That being said, you can support them patiently when they do make positive changes. Also, I second the idea of a vape/ecig as a stepping stone.
