Hey folks (this seems to be my catchphrase),

I fell a bit behind on the plan to get the forum under our control but it should be happening today. The lack of communication from the other party makes this take a bit longer than it should. As I stated before, nothing will change immediately other than ownership of the cloud provider account in use. However, changes will be able to be made without waiting on someone else to answer back. The Xenforo license is getting renewed by the staff at some point which should allow us to fix broken things such as importing an avatar from a link and the jump to previous post feature. I'll share specifics later (today, hopefully) once the transfer happens.

oh trust me, every single person that logs into mturk is desperate. You don't get to this portion of the internet without being desperate. The good thing is, we all benefit when we are desperate together. We stick together and help each other find all the good hits, so we can ignore the bad ones.

If you look at a lot of the hits that are posted, under TV (turkerView) you'll see that there are hits that pay around 15, 20, 30 dollars an hour! If we focus on hits like those, and ignore the low paying ones, the bad requesters will take notice and start raising the pay.

eventually, we all will get rich enough to buy mansions with Waffle House restaurants inside them, and we will gorge ourselves on hashbrowns and stacks of waffles, while our enemies crumble and starve!

There won't be any downtime for now. I'm going to keep everything in the cloud until I can figure out what messes have been made by the current person. Eventually I will start transitioning everything to my gear and slowly implement them. (again, specifics later). One of my goals is to take some of the burden off the staff when it comes to costs. Hoping I can knock down their bill a few steps.

edit: I should say that there will probably be some downtime in the future, but I hope to avoid it. For now I'd like to get that license renewed and fix some of the smaller things. But that also depends on what the staff finds more important
