I got a message from facebook saying someone tried to log into my account today and couldn't get the password right....The thing is, I actually don't use my account. I have not posted anything, liked anything, nor do I have any friends, and there is nothing about myself in any profile....I just use it to stalk people, so I'm not sure why anyone would bother trying to hack into my account.

I think people just want legit-looking accounts that they can send spam from.

This happens to me constantly with my Instagram account. I have no idea why anyone would want access to it. I have no personal info on it and only post cats and plants.

The developer of HIT Scraper abandoned it like a year and a half ago, so I don't think there are really any fixes out there for the issues that it currently has (aside from the script that removes the .json extension from the links.) It's also vulnerable to exploits from what I understand.
