I wear a back belt, brace whenever I work at Walmart. I don't think it's the shoes, I have very good expensive shoes. I think it's lifting the bags and putting them in the carts for the lazy customers that won't lift a finger to help. Although I do think I will stop at a shoe store and see whether they have a better pair of shoes for standing.

Shoes: it's not a question of "cost," per se, so do check out the shoe store. But I fully understand about the lifting of the bags. I once leaned over at work to pick up a trash bag and got a herniated disc as a result. So ... be careful, my friend.
