Requesters are the only ones who can put exclusion quals on their studies. Unless I am mistaken, they have the solution right under their noses. Exclusion quals might not be perfect, but one requester in the comments on that site mentioned exclusion quals lessened the "bad data" to like 2%.

Sooo, they have the tools to avoid this kind of problem but have instead resorted to blaming workers and using an arbitrary data criteria as an explanation for the 'bad data'. And last time I checked, 'bots' couldn't do surveys they weren't able to access

Sometimes I wonder about those groups of questions that get asked thousands of times. "Certain groups", etc. You'd probably start to notice a pattern in my answers if you looked at them as a whole. And I think that would be true across the board. I can't imagine too many people are going "Screw certain groups! Rargh!" Same thing when the same question gets asked 20 different ways, and my answers are the same or similar every time. This doesn't make it bad data. But a post gets made on Facebook, and all of sudden requesters are like "bots!" or "lazy turkers!". I'm sure that there are some, but the huge slow down has been concerning.

Hmm, anyway, this concludes another episode of Random Thoughts with mboone73 @mboone73

I believe it was yesterday and honestly the survey wasn't even that long so I'll take it.
It was yesterday. It took me longer than the 8 minutes indicated, so in the comments question at the end, I suggested that they consider changing the time indicated and/or increase the pay/bonus commensurate with the time involved. I wonder if anyone else did the same?
