So I just got an email from my HMO inviting me to participate in research.

I do have to fill out a health questionnaire (though, I think they know my health better than I do as I've been with them over 20 years and it's all in their computers).

And as the last step they need me to pop into the lab and have a teeny bit of blood drawn.

They will compensate with a $10 Amazon gift card.

 I am actually considering participating.

They're missing a zero on the end of that gift card amount.

$10 gift cards sounds like a low reward for this. You can participate in similar experiments for much more.

I'm actually probably due to have blood drawn to check my thyroid levels and be sure I'm still in remission. I can go get paid $10 to monitor my "condition" lol. (Though, the lab fee is probably $10 so that would be a wash...)

True. This is just my HMO reaching out to see if people are willing to participate in their research (which I have done in the past for free) and being nice and offering a small "thank you."

Totally not interested in becoming a well paid lab rat, lol! Maybe when I was younger...but not at this advanced age of mine. :grandma:

They have so many vials of my blood by now, I'm sure my sequences are completely mapped out!!!

(Plus, the kiddo had genetic testing done when he was tiny so I gave them my blood for that back then, too...I'm documented! And secretly hoping that leads to catching a serial killer who is hiding in my family somewhere, I just know it!)

Soon your clones will start to pop up.

(I've had genetic testing done also and welcome the arrival of my clones. We'll get so much done.)

I feel like my clones would be just as lazy as me so there would just be more food gone and more disorganized disaster just lying around.

Plasma 'donations' typically run $50-$75 and take about 90 minutes.

But write it in your own blood to be ironic.

I'm about to bake some bread! I haven't done very much bread so sometimes it doesn't turn out. But I let the bread machine make the dough and now it's doing the second rise in the oven so we'll see how it turns out :nailbite:
