Cardio never hurts. Cardio isn't a huge source of exercise for me, but I would think doing it everyday would be a good thing. It's things like strength training that I think would be more of a concern with how often you do them.
Okay cool. It's got weights in it but it's probably not the right kind of weight stuff. idk what I'm doing lol

I think weighted cardio excersies and weight training are two different beasts. You should be good. I'm talking lifting 50-100lbs versus them saying uses water bottles to lift.

I just recently started working out. I was using this 8 fit app to do cardio stuff and running when my knees hurt. My knees can't take the squats or lunges. But I can do jumping exercises. I need to get a solid routine but can't figure out where to go. I haven't exercised since I was in middle school. I try a little bit of everything but most of it is leg work. Lunges, squats, running and things like this. I do some core items as well. My problem is after exercising really hard for even like 10 minutes I feel so nauseated. I have tried to eat about 20 mins after because that is what I read, but it doesn't help. I end up having to lay down until the feeling is gone. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do to conquer it? Also do you have any easy on the knee exercises. I have looked online but a lot I cannot do because I just don't have the strength yet to do them. My main concern is to get rid of my muffin top. I have lost about 8 pounds doing the exercises through the 8 fit app and the 30 min. running I do, but then I get lazy and skip days as well. Any help or idea would be appreciated!!

Pilates may be helpful! You can go at your own pace and incorporate more of the seated/laying down pilates exercises as you get used to it. A less practical but better for your knees cardio option is swimming. If you can get to a pool, swimming or even water aerobics are much gentler on your joints than running.

so. dietbet.
its a website/app where you bet money that you can lose your weight (there are games at 10, 35, or even 100 bucks)
you lose 4% of your body weight for the one month kickstarter games, or 10% for 6 month transformer games (haven't tried those yet)
the people that meet the goal, get a payout.
in my first one, i paid $5 (they gave me 5 free!) and i won 18.21.
in my second one, there was only 3 of us, and we all met the goal, so we didnt "win" anything.
i just weighed out for my third game though, should win again!
you have to submit a full body pic (i use my webcam) and then a picture of your feet on the scale with a password.

anyway its an easy way to "make" money especially if you're already trying to lose weight.
can't wait to see payout for the 35 dollar game :D
and the king fatty cakes games are super fun and hilarious. one starts on friday even if you want to give it a try.

Anyone else Keto up in dis bitch?
I'm gonna do another round (I can't do it long term b/c of my kidney...) when the kids go back to school Monday.
I haven't, I can't tolerate my crazies when I'm off carbs and get super weak, with farm chores I can't handle that even short term.

Good luck! I see such good results with it.

I've not seen this thread before, it's a good one. Like all I am really going to dive in and try to lose some of my desk job weight. When I worked at the kennel almost three years ago, I ate mcds every day but was so stressed and on my feet I only weighed 155 lbs.

Got a desk job and within four months I went up to 165, holidays I hit 170. Right now I'm sitting at 171 and rather unhappy. During the past three years I strictly followed T25 diet and all and lost zero pounds. I hate being a woman with a stubborn metabolism. I have a complex too, because when I left high school I was 220 lbs. I went down to 150lbs by the end of college, and now it flux a lot. I can't run much, my knees get wrecked. I am fairly fit even when heavy - I ride horses and do farm chores constantly. Hike with my doggo. Just a complex. And it's even worse is meeting a new guy at the moment, all those feelings of insecurity have kicked in. Yayyy. I might try that diet bet site !

Anyone have suggestions for workout apps? I have autoimmune flare-ups that sometimes make it difficult for me to do anything strenuous for extended periods, but I figure I can at least consistently do bodyweight exercises and quick bursts of cardio.

I think I would have started exercising more, sooner if I knew that health goth was a thing

Also so this post is less pointless for any moms out there I highly highly recommend mommastrong ... I've gone from an exercise hater to an exercise-every-day-er (for about 3 months so far!) and I actually like it :) And I get life lessons along with my workouts. And it's only 20 mins a day. And she knows her shit, but she makes it non-intimidating.

I like Aaptiv because it tells me what to do. It has a wide variety of workouts and I like that they set music to them. I think it costs some money, though, although somehow I have figured out a way to get it for free...I'm sure I'll owe them 1200 dollars whenever they figure it out. I've heard workout trainer and swork it aren't bad. And I think Fitbit even has workouts you can do as a part of their app if you have one.

We have started a Goruck challenge program. Started week two yesterday. It's brutal and I kind of want to die. But it's nice to have a goal end in site and as always, it's easier doing these programs when someone else is doing them with you. No matter if that person is physically with you or not. Accountability is key. If I'm left to my own devices, I'll workout like twice and then quit, mostly because I'm bored. Let me know if anyone wants some motivation, I know I could use some!

I just took a look at mommastrong and it looks awesome. I've never been an exerciser like...ever. I physically cannot do a sit-up. It's been a few months since you posted about it...are you still using it? Do you still recommend it?

YES! Still using it almost every day, still loving it (also Courtney is anti-sit up because lots of moms have abdominal separation and those can make it worse... did I mention she knows her shit? lol).

I have never been an exerciser before either and one of favorite things about Mommastrong is it allows you to exercise and not be a "fitness person". It fits under the umbrella of self-care. So I'm not running around talking about lifting and gels and macros and bicep curls or whatever - but I DO notice a big difference in how I feel in my day to day life. Like when we were in NYC last week I walked 10 miles and was FINE. It was amazing. And just chasing my kids around is easier.

And I don't have a huge tired slump during the day now like I used to. And my anxiety is loads better.

Mommastrong has changed my life - 15 mins at a time for a few months. If you do sign up join the FB group since there's lots of great info and support there too!

so... I definitely still recommend it :)

Yeah, I'm not really even 'supposed' to do situps per my doctor because of a back injury from years ago. I think I'm going to go for this program...can I ask if you've lost weight/inches with it? You totally don't have to answer that if you don't want to :)

She also has modifications for almost everything - high impact and low impact :) I haven't lost much weight since breastfeeding my daughter took away most of the amount I wanted to lose but my clothes definitely fit better and I have more muscle definition than I've ever had in my life (in a toned way, not a weird bodybuilder way) and her body positivity is so incredible. Honestly one of my first thoughts when I looked at the program was "oh great another skinny B telling me what to do" but she is AWESOME.

Example: I have a perkier butt from this program - like noticeably. But she focuses on what will make your glutes more FUNCTIONAL. She never talks about how it should/will/could look, just how you can make it work better to support the rest of your body.

that sounds awesome! I have basically zero core strength and just normal everyday things make me short of breath when they definitely shouldn't. Gonna go buy this now lol. Thanks!
