It also seems he is a requester that wants people to spend 60 mins for 50 cents on his survey and then wonders why he is getting crap quality answers. So who is wrong?
Well, I think a good rule to have is if you feel like the pay isn't well enough to make you want to give it your all, then just don't do it. That way the requester will learn their lesson when no one does their hits, and mturk workers won't get a bad reputation for doing shitty work.

Bringing up the problem of bad data is fine but blaming it on bots without having any evidence and scaring everyone without doing conclusive (any?) research on the subject or without proposing solutions on how to find out what the actual problem is instead of the potentially imagined one is not.

In general, defamation lawsuits are very hard to win. You have to PROVE that the person in question 1. Made a false statement regarding you. 2. It harmed you in some meaningful way (significant loss of profit.) 3. That the person in question made the statement knowing it was false, or made the comment completely negligently.

Seeing how the comment was made about Amazon's platform, not you personally as a contract worker, you don't have much of a case. Amazon could potentially say that the comment hurt their profits, but would probably struggle to prove it was completely untrue (multiple submission from the same IP), or that the comment was made negligently.

I'm definitely not an expert at this kind of thing either so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
Today I learned! Thank you, I like feeling less ignorant.

I wouldn't mind having to confirm my identity with an ID like testable minds does, if it helps the situation as well. I think a lot of the bad data may be from foreigners or something of the sort, not just the occasional bots. You know the "i am USA worker. englishes good speaking"

Have you looked on Youtube about people talking about Mturk?
A lot of them I cant even understand what they are saying and yet they are encouraging other people who are ESL to join and work.

I'd make a dang "Welcome to my life!" video and give them a tour of my home town and apartment if it meant things would get better/ I would be exempt for life from robot checks.

Maybe it's all the funding he has? Requesters don't really owe us anything. They're welcome to post what they want for whatever they want to pay. It doesn't mean we have to do it. As workers, if we really care about the future of this type of work, I think it's our responsibility to pass on poor paying work rather than use it as an excuse to throw data quality out the window.

You're expecting someone to sit here for an hour for 50 cents says a lot about the requesters mindset period.
