I gave them my schedule c, bank statements, and screenshots of money transfers from amazon. none of that is sufficient apparently, they want a record of how many hours I work provided by Amazon, which they aren't accepting that that isn't a thing. I'm going to contact my state ombudsman and see if they can help.
If you pay your rent on time and your utilities are caught up how can they have a problem? Our situation is not going to get better fast. With so many people out of work, someone who has some work and is paying rent on time ought to be a blessing for any landlord because they won't be able to replace them quickly like the maybe have been. In Canada there's a petition going around to stop rent payments until this is over.

What about your disbursements to your bank? That's proof of money and where it's from. ..Were I you, I'd contact the local legal aid office and see if they can sort it out. That whole thing sounds a bit flimsy. ''Paystubs'' sounds like a shifty work around the law. You can always be self-employed to get on federal programs. A great number of people are just that. If your right to live there is based on federal law, there may have been a sneaky change in the law..or that department's reading of the law.....or something even more unethical.

The management may think that this is a good time to get new tenants--who can be charged a higher rate...the thieves and scammers are out in force lately.

People without jobs and that includes even high earning people will not be paying higher rent. Landlords and real estate people are going to have to make adjustments because when this is over, it isn't just going back to normal. Things are a real mess and will continue to be. There's no good way to put it. Rents will be going down or buildings sitting empty.

People who are self-employed never work stable hours--and you don't work for Amazon at all. You work for each requester whose task you accept. Amazon is the payment system. Like a bank, but not quite. This is hokey. And suspicious as hell. You need to get legal aid.

Not to hijack the conversation but this is the same thing I've been telling myself, It's so true! I hope landlords have the same logic!

They will when no one bites. Real estate too. No one will be buying houses. Even the ultra wealthy may delay that for a bit, though they've always got money for homes as when during the real depression they were building and tearing down in NYC all the time.
